Spartan Consulting & Safety was founded in 2013 with a simple mission: provide practical, high-quality safety training and workforce development programs that help companies protect their people, maintain compliance, and build stronger operations.
What started in a spare bedroom has grown into one of West Texas' trusted training and consulting providers, serving the oil and gas, construction, crane, transportation, and industrial industries. We understand the realities of the field because we have lived them. Our team brings decades of hands-on experience from job sites, cranes, safety departments, and workforce development programs throughout the Permian Basin and beyond.

Katrina Mendenhall is the Founder and President of Spartan Consulting & Safety, LLC, a West Texas-based safety consulting and safety training company serving the oil and gas, construction, crane, transportation, and industrial sectors.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Katrina has built a reputation for combining real-world field knowledge with practical safety leadership. Her career began in the crane industry, where she progressed from office administration and dispatching into field operations, rigging, signaling, crane operation, training, and program development. That hands-on experience continues to shape Spartan's practical approach to training and compliance.
In 2013, Katrina founded Spartan Consulting & Safety with a vision of providing high-quality training, inspections, and consulting services that help organizations protect their workforce while maintaining operational excellence. Under her leadership, Spartan has grown from a small startup into a respected training provider throughout Texas and New Mexico.
Katrina holds numerous industry credentials, including Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) certifications in both General Industry and Construction. She has been a Certified Crane Operator since 2009 and has served as a Contract Instructor for workforce development and industry training programs since 2019. She is also actively involved in crane operator development, rigging and signal person training, OSHA compliance education, and safety leadership initiatives.
Her passion for workforce development extends beyond compliance. Katrina believes that quality training creates opportunities, strengthens careers, and improves the lives of workers and their families. She is particularly committed to helping individuals gain industry-recognized credentials that lead to long-term success.
Born and raised in West Texas, Katrina understands the work ethic, resilience, and determination that drive the industries she serves. Those values remain at the core of Spartan's culture and mission today.
When she is not leading Spartan, Katrina is focused on mentoring employees, supporting workforce development partnerships, and continuing to advocate for safer workplaces throughout the industries she serves.
